A notorious title in the contemporary horror film genre, Paranormal Activity follows couple Katie and Micah, soon after they move to a suburban home. The Fantasticks
Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt’s record-breaking Off-Broadway musical The Fantasticks will finally make its way to Broadway in a new version directed and choreographed by Tony winner Christopher Gattelli (Schmigadoon!, Death Becomes Her, Newsies). The production reimagines the central romantic pair—traditionally Matt and Luisa—as a same-sex pair Matt and Lewis, reinterpreting the story’s allegory of love, longing, and reconciliation through a gay lens. The show’s original pair of fathers, who secretly orchestrate the clandestine love affair between their children, will now be mothers.
The Fantasticks will begin performances at the Hayes October 22, with opening night set for November 16.
It’s been a minute since a Shakespeare comedy was featured on a Broadway stage, but it will have been worth the wait to see Marvel megastars Tom Hiddleston and Hayley Atwell onstage in the transfer of this West End production from Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Hiddleston will play Benedick alongside Atwell as Beatrice. The classic tale of rivalry-turned-romance will be helmed by Tony winning director-producer Jamie Lloyd (Sunset Blvd). She’s gonna be a part of the Big Apple! Director Jamie Lloyd’s recent London revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s Evita will make a Broadway transfer in the new year, with Rachel Zegler reprising her Olivier Award-winning performance as Eva Perón. The musical follows Lloyd’s Tony-winning London and Broadway revival of Lloyd Webber’s Sunset Boulevard, which got audiences talking with a minimalist take on the traditionally opulent musical. His Evita was first staged in 2019 at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, coming to London’s West End in a revised take last year. One of Lloyd Webber’s most mainstream-acclaimed musicals, Evita features numerous songs that have now become standards like “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina,” “Buenos Aires,” and “Rainbow High.”
