Feel the excitement of the FIFA World Cup as you head to the games in subway trains wrapped to match each team’s face-off at the NYNJ Stadium this summer.
Getting to Penn Station for NBA Finals Game 5 and first World Cup match
The joint project between the FIFA World Cup 2026 NYNJ Host Committee, New York City Hall and the MTA will celebrate all 48 nations participating in this year’s tournament and will welcome the millions of travelers expected to head to the games.
The first subway lines to roll out the new designs were the R trains, featuring the flags of Brazil and Morocco, and the No. 1 trains representing Senegal and France.

More country-inspired designs are expected to color the New York City subways as the games continue throughout the summer. The line up includes
No. 2 trains – Norway and Senegal
No. 6 trains – Panama and England
No. 7 trains – Ecuador and Norway
No. 4 trains – Japan, Croatia, Canada, Tunisia, Portugal, Haiti, Switzerland, Uzbekistan, Ghana and the United States
A trains – Spain, Scotland, Saudi Arabia, DR Congo, Australia, United States, Cape Verde, Netherlands, Jordan and Sweden
E trains – Colombia, Egypt, Algeria, Uruguay, New Zealand, Türkiye, Iraq, Curaçao, Ivory Coast and Czechia
F trains – Argentina, South Africa, Bosnia, Austria, Paraguay, South Korea, Iran, Mexico, Belgium and Qatar
“This city was built by people from every corner of the globe, and for the next few weeks, every corner of the globe is coming to us. Get on the train to experience the most beautiful city in the world during the beautiful game,” said New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

The 2026 World Cup games are set to kick off on Thursday in Mexico before starting at the NYNJ Stadium on Saturday.
