Did Nicola Peltz Make Brooklyn Beckham Skip David’s Walk Of Fame Ceremony?

Brooklyn Beckham reportedly plans to skip David Beckham’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony and insiders are revealing whether his wife, Nicola Peltz, played a role in the decision.

According to a new source on Page Six, the former British soccer legend is gearing up for a major career milestone as he’s about to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. And while his wife and pal Tom Cruise have confirmed their attendance, Brooklyn, who reportedly lives just 20 minutes away, will be noticeably absent. 

Per the source, the decision to snub the ceremony comes mostly from Brooklyn, but his wife Peltz is vehemently opposed to him going too. “Even if he did want to see them at the Walk of Fame, Nicola would not take too kindly to it,” the source said. “Two things can be true: Nicola can be difficult, and Brooklyn does not want to see his parents.”

In January of this year, David and Victoria Beckham’s eldest son took to Instagram and confirmed the family feud that was long rumored to be going on between them. The statement was harsh, and while it confirmed some of the biggest stories surrounding their rift, it perhaps created a divide that became officially too big to repair.

As a reminder, Brooklyn’s statement back in January included numerous accusations against his parents, including a claim that they’ve been “trying endlessly to ruin” his relationship with Nicola for years. He also accused his parents of pressuring him into signing away the rights to his name before their wedding in 2022. “They have never treated me the same since,” he said of his refusal.

Brooklyn added that on his wedding day, when he was supposed to dance his first dance with Nicola, Victoria hijacked the moment. “She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone,” he wrote. “I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.” 

As for his decision to skip his dad’s milestone 50th birthday, Brooklyn said that he and Nicola flew to London and repeatedly tried to meet with his father. “He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner. When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn’t invited,” he explained. 

“The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards,” Brooklyn said at the end of his statement. “I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared.”

Since Brooklyn’s statement, the former Spice Girl has denied the claims that she and her husband have been controlling of their kids. In addition to Brooklyn, they’re also parents to Romeo, 23, Cruz, 21, and Harper, 14.

In a May 27 interview with The Times, for instance, the fashion designer revealed that she is nothing but supportive of her kids. “There’s a big difference between supporting children with what they want to do and forcing them,” she said, adding, “All we’ve ever done with any of the children is support them, help them and encourage them.”

She then praised her kids’ “passion and their sense of purpose,” and went on to say that she and David want them to do whatever they want in life. “The three boys used to play football, and one by one they decided it wasn’t for them, and that’s okay, whatever makes them happy,” she said. “I just want them to feel fulfilled.”
