STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — We kicked off our latest Best of Staten Island 2025 category last week, asking readers to nominate the best nail salons on Staten Island.
After 79 nominations were submitted on our Instagram, Facebook and TikTok posts, it’s time to narrow the field to the top three finalists.

And now, folks, it’s time to start voting!
Readers have until 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20, to vote for their favorite places to get pampered with manicures and pedicures.
It can be a classic mom-and-pop shop, or a trendier, luxurious salon.
As long as the salons provide top-notch work, we want to know about it.
But, first, we need your vote to find the best of the best!
Only the top three vote getters will receive individual coverage on the Advance/SILive.com’s social media platforms — Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok — and a collective feature in the Staten Island Advance.

Note to past winners: If you’ve already finished as a top-three finalist for the current year, congratulations! But let’s give the rest of these local businesses a chance. If you’ve already won this year, you’ll be ineligible for the remainder of this year’s contests. But, don’t worry, we’ll re-enter your name on our poll for next year’s contests.
How Best of Staten Island works
We like to keep it pretty simple for Best of Staten Island contest. Over the course of the year, we will feature seven different “Best of” categories.
For each category, there will be one week of nominations, one week of voting and two weeks that will focus on the top winners, as chosen by our readers. Only brick-and-mortar businesses are considered, unless otherwise noted.
The top three Best of Staten Island 2025 winners in each category receive individual coverage on the Advance/SILive.com’s social media platforms and a collective feature in the Staten Island Advance.
This year, we already featured the best dance schools, best breakfast, best tacos, best burgers and best bars on Staten Island.
In 2024, we featured the best sandwiches, dance schools, pasta dishes, hair salons, coffee shops, specialty pizza and bakeries on Staten Island.
