A man was struck and killed by an M train in Ridgewood on Tuesday afternoon, according to authorities.
The FDNY received a 911 call reporting a person struck by a train at the Forest Avenue subway station at around 2:10 p.m. on June 9. Police from the 104th Precinct in Ridgewood responded to the station and found the 35-year-old victim beneath the train in grave condition. Emergency crews requested that power be shut down so they could extricate his body. Once he was removed from the trackbed, EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.
An NYPD spokesperson said no criminality was suspected.
The train operator later told investigators that he observed the man on the platform jump in front of his train, according to a law enforcement source.

The city’s chief medical examiner will determine the cause of death. M train service resumed with residual delays following a temporary suspension between Myrtle Avenue and Metropolitan Avenue in both directions, an MTA spokesman said.
