A ska night with serious metropolitan roots: The Slackers, the Manhattan six-piece who’ve spent 35 years threading ska, rocksteady, reggae, and soul into something distinctly their own. Frontman Vic Ruggiero’s gravelly accent has always been as much an instrument as his keyboard, and the band’s 2022 album Don’t Let the Sunlight Fool Ya debuted at number one on the Billboard reggae charts. The band is known for dense, horn-driven sets that fill dancefloors.
