Voters in and beyond Queens will soon make their picks for numerous important offices. Primary Day is on June 23, with early voting to run from June 13 to 21.
Among the nomination contests on the ballot are those for state comptroller, state Senate, state Assembly and congressional seats.
The polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Primary Day, and the hours for early voting sites vary by day. The general election is Nov. 3.

State comptroller
Challenging incumbent state Comptroller Tom DiNapoli are Democrats Drew Warshaw, who led an affordable housing nonprofit, and Raj Goyle, who has served in Kansas’ House of Representatives.
Queens civil court county judge
Democratic voters will choose between attorneys John Ciafone, Julie Milner, Edward Irizarry and Edmond Wong for the bench.
Third Congressional District
Public defender Danielle Welch is challenging U.S. Rep. Tom Suozzi (D-Nassau, Queens) for New York’s third Congressional District nomination. Republicans will have a choice between former Assemblymember Mike LiPetri and attorney Greg Hach.
Sixth Congressional District
U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Flushing) has a challenger in Chuck Park, a former United States diplomat.
Seventh Congressional District
Democrats running for the seat now held by outgoing U.S. Rep. Nydia Velázquez (D-Brooklyn, Queens) are public defender Vichal Kumar, Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso, Assemblymember Claire Valdez (D-Sunnyside) and City Councilmember Julie Won (D-Long Island City).
14th Congressional District
Challenging incumbent Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-Bronx, Queens) are Democrats Felipe Garcia, an energy executive and engineer, and Marty Dolan, who ran for public advocate last year and has previously challenged the incumbent.
State Senate District 12
Assemblymember Steven Raga (D-Woodside) and organizer Aber Kawas are competing for the Democratic nod to replace state Sen. Mike Gianaris (D-Astoria), who is not seeking reelection.
State Senate District 13
As she seeks reelection, state Sen. Jessica Ramos (D-Jackson Heights) is facing former city and state lawmaker Hiram Monserrate and Assemblymember Jessica González-Rojas (D-East Elmhurst).
State Senate District 15
Vying to unseat state Sen. Joe Addabbo Jr. (D-Woodhaven) is Democratic district leader and former attorney Albert Baldeo.
Assembly District 23
Democrats running for the seat held by Assemblymember Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-Howard Beach) are Pesach Osina, lead senior liaison for the City Council Speaker’s Office, and attorney Mike Scala.
Assembly District 26
Competing in the Republican primary to face Assemblyman Ed Braunstein (D-Bayside) in November are retired NYPD officer Robert Speranza and former district leader Philip Grillo, who was convicted and later pardoned for taking part in the Jan. 6 riots.
Assembly District 28
Jonathan Rinaldi, now a Democrat, is once again vying to unseat Assemblymember Andrew Hevesi (D-Forest Hills), after seeking to unsuccessfully in 2024.
Assembly District 30
As Raga eyes the state Senate, Nepali-American community leader Somnath Ghimire, Democratic District Leader Patrick Martinez and former NYPD Lt. Commander Shamsul Haque are competing in the Democratic primary for his Assembly seat.
Assembly District 32
The crowded Democratic primary race to replace Assemblymember Vivian Cook (D-Jamaica) includes businessman Mohammed Molla, Latoya LeGrand, district manager for state Sen. James Sanders Jr. (D-South Ozone Park), Tunisia Morrison, former aide to Assemblymember Alicia Hyndman (D-Springfield Gardens), educator Queen Johnson and Nathaniel Hezekiah III, deputy chief of staff to Rep. Greg Meeks (D-Jamaica).
Assembly District 33
Looking to unseat Assemblymember Clyde Vanel (D-Queens Village) is Democrat Oster Bryan, president of the St. Albans Civic Improvement Association.
Assembly District 34
As González-Rojas vies for state Senate, her former chief of staff, Brian Romero, and Roosevelt Avenue organizer Rosa Sanchez are on the Democratic primary ballot for her Assembly seat.
Assembly District 36
Running against Assemblymember Diana Moreno (D-Astoria) are Democrats Mary Jobaida, who formerly served on Ramos’ staff, and Kevin Coenen, a retired FDNY lieutenant.
Assembly District 37
With Valdez eyeing Congress, tenant organizer Samantha Kattan, Community Board 2 member Pia Rahman and former Sunnyside Chamber of Commerce President Melissa Orlando are the Democrats hoping to replace her in Albany.
Assembly District 38
Democrat David Orkin, a former immigrant workers rights attorney, is challenging incumbent state Assemblymember Jenifer Rajkumar (D-Woodhaven).
Assembly District 39
Running against Assemblymember Catalina Cruz (D-Corona) is fellow Democrat Yonel Letellier Sosa, who worked for the late state lawmaker Jose Peralta.
