The New York Knicks are NBA champions for the first time since 1973. Following the script for every game of the NBA Finals, the Knicks fell behind the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5 on Saturday and when all hope seemed lost — again — they rallied.

Jalen Brunson scored 45 points and led New York to its third championship, vanquishing the Spurs, 94-90.

The crowd in San Antonio was filled with Knick fans who weren’t going to miss the chance to see the first championship for the team in 53 years.
