CLAY, N.Y. — The New York State Department of Transportation updated a road closure alert for the Town of Clay.

Starting Wednesday, November 5, State Route 31 will be closed at the CSX railroad crossing between Henry Clay Boulevard and Caughdenoy Road. This is to facilitate track repairs.

The closure begins at Noon, and ends Wednesday, November 12, at 5 p.m.

Westbound drivers are advised to follow the signed detour that directs traffic north on Caughdenoy Road, to Verplank Road, to Henry Clay Boulevard, to State Route 31.

Eastbound drivers are advised to follow the signed detour that directs traffic to north on Henry Clay Boulevard, to Verplank Road, to Caughdenoy Road, to State Route 31.

Construction activities are weather dependent.
