A massive time capsule containing items from all U.S. states and territories has been sealed shut and will not be opened until 250 years from now, in the year 2276. New York’s submission included a custom America 250 coin with “Kingston, New York 1777” — the state’s first capital — engraved on the back. Vermont submitted four ornaments representing historic sites, including the Bennington Battle Monument, Hubbardton Battlefield, Mount Independence and the Old Constitution House. Part of New Hampshire’s submission is a brochure featuring a timeline of the state’s Revolutionary history and a poster advertising July 4 events in Concord.
