October brought a wave of family-friendly openings across Brooklyn—from the much-anticipated Space Club playspace and Ferox ninja gym in DUMBO, to Prospect Park’s seasonal ice rink, a new comic book shop in Bay Ridge, and a children’s boutique in Brooklyn Heights.

More openings are on the way, including the supermarket Aldi in Downtown Brooklyn, ice rinks in Domino Park and Brooklyn Bridge Park, new preschools in Carroll Gardens and Park Slope, and the expansion of Brooklyn Conservatory of Music in Park Slope. Scroll down to see what’s coming soon!

Space Club | Vinegar Hill | NOW OPEN

Space Club will open its newest location in Vinegar Hill, at 256 Plymouth Street. The 28,000-square-foot indoor playspace features a three-level jungle gym, seven-million-bead pool, trampolines, disco room, and creative studios for Lego and MagnaTiles. Designed for kids ages 0–13, it also includes three birthday party rooms and a public café open daily 9am–6pm. Memberships ($299/month) include unlimited play, classes, after-school programs (starting January 2026), and summer camps. Single passes are $39 for two hours. Open 365 days, 8am–7pm. Ferox Ninja Playground | DUMBO | NOW OPEN

Ferox, the indoor ninja park from Greenpoint, is opening its new DUMBO location—Ferox Ninja Playground—at 65 Jay Street on October 26. The 6,000-square-foot space for ages 2–12 features trampolines, a Ninja warrior course, parkour, and a zipline. Offerings include open play, birthday parties, and after-school classes starting in January. Through December, hours are Tuesdays and Fridays (2–8pm), weekends (10am–8pm), and school holidays (with camps 9am–2pm and open play after). Starting January, open play runs 6–8pm daily after classes. Drop-in play is $20 ($10 second hour) on weekdays and $25 ($15 second hour) on weekends.

LeFrak Center Ice Rink | Prospect Park | NOW OPEN

The LeFrak Center’s ice rink at Lakeside in Prospect Park is opening for the season. Celebrate at their Harvest Festival & First Skate Weekend on November 1 & 2, with free skating sessions. Rental skates are $10. You can also enjoy free 15-minute skating lessons, arts and crafts, face painting, costume contest for kids and dogs, figure skaters, and more! Learn more here.

Darling Children’s Shop | Brooklyn Heights | NOW OPEN

A new children’s shop has opened at 149 Atlantic Avenue in November 2025. Darling carries  handmade and vintage children’s clothing, gifts, and accessories sourced globally and from New York.

Hey Clay Pottery Studio | Gowanus | NOW OPEN

A new pottery studio has opened in the two-building development at 420 Carroll in Gowanus. The studio is open Tuesdays through Sundays, with open studio hours for members and access to all materials and tools. They offer a variety of programs, including an 8-week beginners program called Foundations. For now, their programming will be for adults, but they do plan to introduce kids programming in the future.

Jiggle Studio | Sunset Park | NOW OPEN

Jiggle Studio recently opened on 4th Avenue. It is an inclusive fitness studio welcoming everyone to work out and have fun. They offer yoga, step aerobics, Pilates, kickboxing, and more. All classes are $20. For Halloween, they are having special classes to learn the Thriller dance – sign up here!

New York Comics | Bay Ridge | NOW OPEN

Local owners from Sunset Park and Bay Ridge just opened this store for comic book fans to buy and sell comics, toys, and collectables. They are located off 5th Avenue on 79th Street and are open Wednesday – Sunday.

Citi Bikes | Bay Ridge | NOW AVAILABLE

Citi Bike has finally come to Bay Ridge, with NYC DOT installing 49 docking stations throughout the South Brooklyn neighborhood this fall. Docks will house both regular bike and grey e-bikes. To see all the locations now open, and those coming soon, click here.

Kin Collective Pilates Studio | Brooklyn Heights | NOW OPEN

The pilates studio Kin Collective has opened a new location at 150 Montague Street. Book your class here! Drop-in classes start at $38. Kin Collective also has a location at 319 Court Street in Cobble Hill.

Shop Workspace | Gowanus | NOW OPEN

The Shop Workspace has opened at 420 Carroll Street, with 3,000 square feet of coworking space for freelancers, creatives, and small businesses. The new location has flexible memberships, private offices, art studios, and shared amenities, plus a partnership with Arts Gowanus to provide subsidized studio space for local artists. This marks The Shop’s first Brooklyn outpost, with a Greenpoint location also on the way.

Aldi | Downtown Brooklyn | Opening November 5

Aldi is opening a new location in November at 625 Fulton Street in Downtown Brooklyn. The budget-friendly supermarket is known for its curated selection of private-label and select national-brand products, including fresh produce, dairy, meats, pantry staples, frozen foods, and household essentials. Barnes and Noble | Park Slope | Reopening November 5

The Barnes and Noble bookstore at 267 7th Avenue in Park Slope was closed for renovations, but will reopen on November 5.

CVS | Park Slope | Opening November 7

As part of the new Paseo on 5th residential and retail development in Park Slope, a new CVS on the corner of 5th Avenue & Sterling Pl has soft opened. Their grand opening will take place on Friday, November 7. Tenants will also include Lidl and Wells Fargo Bank.

SKATE at Domino Park | Williamsburg | Opening November 10

Domino Park’s ice skating rink is back on November 10, and tickets are now on sale for the season. Skating sessions are 75 minutes long, and advance reservations are suggested. Skates are available to rent in sizes from youth size 9 to adult size 13, and skate aids are available. This year, the new food vendors Stretch Pizza and Frita Batidos will be serving ringside. Roebling Rink | Brooklyn Bridge Park | Opening November 24

Brooklyn Bridge Park’s ice skating rink will return to Emily Warren Roebling Plaza on November 24. Skate beneath the Brooklyn Bridge with fantastic waterfront views! Skates and skate aids will be available for rent. More information on hours and tickets to come.

The Nook Preschool | Park Slope | Opening November 2025

The Nook Park Slope, a Reggio Emilia–inspired preschool at Sterling Place and 7th Avenue is opening this fall and will offer a play- and art-based curriculum that emphasizes creativity, social-emotional growth, and outdoor exploration at the nearby Park Slope Playground. The program serves children ages 2–5 in a bright, multi-age classroom, currently enrolling 12–15 students. Hours run 8am– pm with flexible 2-, 3-, or 5-day schedules; applications for Fall 2025 and 2026 are open here!

The Goods Mart | Williamsburg | Opening Fall/Winter 2025

The Goods Mart, a convenience store focused on healthier snacks and pantry staples, is coming later this year to Williamsburg Wharf, the new mixed-use waterfront development at 470 Kent Avenue. This will be the shop’s first location in Williamsburg, joining a retail lineup at Williamsburg Wharf that includes a new location of Breads Bakery and a restaurant from chef Eyal Shani. The female-owned Goods Mart offers snacks, drinks, and everyday items from emerging brands.

Velto Pickleball Club | Red Hook | Opening Fall 2025

Velto Pickleball Club is scheduled to open in Fall 2025 on the second floor of the Tesla Building at 160 Van Brunt Street in Red Hook, Brooklyn, occupying 14,000 square feet with four full-size courts, a half-court, a mezzanine lounge, and a smoothie bar. The club, New York City’s first fully automated pickleball facility, will offer competitive matches, open play, lessons and clinics, coaching, private events, and leagues for players of all skill levels. Additional spaces include lounges and coworking areas. Hours will be Monday through Sunday from 6am to 12am, with separate peak and off-peak pricing for members and non-members.

Padelhaus | Greenpoint | Opening Fall 2025

As Padelhaus continues to grow their empire, the newest addition to their roster will open in Greenpoint in Fall 2025. Each of the clubs reflect a commitment to raising the bar for how padel is played, taught, and experienced in the states. The Pottery Studio | Greenpoint | Opening Fall 2025

The Pottery Studio is projected to open Fall 2025 in Greenpoint. Their pottery community provides open spaces for anyone to work from hobbyists, students to professional and production artists. KIDZ Play Zone | Downtown Brooklyn | Opening December 2025

A new indoor play space is coming to 546 Atlantic Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn, offering open play, parent groups, birthday parties, workshops, classes, camps, and more. Stay tuned on Instagram for more information!

Brooklyn Uprising | DUMBO | Opening January 2026

Brooklyn Uprising, a new indoor climbing gym, is set to open in January 2026 at 20 John Street in DUMBO, directly across from Brooklyn Bridge Park. Alongside bouldering walls, the facility will feature weight training, a sauna, and locker rooms, plus options for climbing coaching and personal training. The gym will be for ages 16 and up. DUMBO Ceramics | DUMBO | Opening January 2026

A new pottery studio will open on the corner of Jay and John in the former NY Media Center space in January 2026 offering pottery classes for adults and kids, day camps, and community events. Stay tuned for more details.

Petit Poussins | New location in Carroll Gardens | Opening January 2026 

Petits Poussins is opening up a new location in Carroll Gardens at 283 Court Street. The French-English bilingual daycare will infants and toddlers ages 3 months to 2 years. Each classroom has one French-speaking teacher and one English-speaking teacher, with a curriculum focused on early language acquisition, well-being, and the development of fine and gross motor skills. Applications accepted on a rolling basis.

Five Iron Golf | Williamsburg | Opening in 2026

Five Iron Golf will open its first Brooklyn location at 25 Kent in Williamsburg in 2026. The 15,000-square-foot flagship will be Brooklyn’s largest indoor golf facility, featuring 13 simulators, a 7,000-square-foot gym, locker rooms, and a bar and kitchen.

Glowbar | Williamsburg | Opening in 2026

Glowbar will also debut at 25 Kent in Williamsburg in 2026, offering 30-minute customized facials ($80 for members and $65 for non-members). Glowbar is already established in Brooklyn, with locations including Prospect Heights and Cobble Hill.

Wally | New location in Downtown Brooklyn | Opening date TBA

A new dental care center, Wally, is coming to Ashland Place in Downtown Brooklyn. Founding Memberships will include unlimited dental cleanings and whitening for $174/year (normally $249). Wally uses Swiss-made Airflow technology. Members will also have access to advanced diagnostics like 3D scans and X-rays. Learn more here!

Expansion of Brooklyn Conservatory of Music | Grand Army Plaza | Opening Fall 2026

In Fall 2026, the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music will open a second hub on Grand Army Plaza, just a few blocks away from their Park Slope home at 58 7th Avenue. The new 12,000 square foot expansion at One Prospect Park West will more than double enrollment in their music programs, and will house their new Music Therapy Institute.
