SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (WCAX) – Seventeen horses died Tuesday morning in a barn fire at the Saratoga Casino Hotel in Saratoga Springs, New York.
The hotel confirmed that the barn housed 18 horses. One horse escaped with minor injuries.
The fire broke out around 2:30 a.m. in a backstretch area of the harness racetrack.
Another 250 horses in nearby barns were led to safety.
