In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary of independence, the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles is issuing a specialty license plate to mark the occasion.

The custom plate bears an image of the United States and the words “United States of America 250” across the bottom.

“We are delighted to offer this plate to the public as the nation proudly celebrates its 250th anniversary,” DMV Acting Commissioner Christian Jackstadt said in a statement. “It is a great way for New Yorkers to display their love of country and express their appreciation for all America has to offer.”

Plates will be available to order on the state DMV’s website and at all DMV offices for $60 and an annual renewal fee of $31.25, along with normal registration renewal costs.
