Granville, NY (WRGB) — New York State Police in Granville have arrested 28-year-old Jarid Swan on charges of reckless endangerment in the second degree, reckless endangerment of property, and obstructing firefighting operations.

The arrest follows an incident on October 19, 2025, when police responded to a vehicle fire on Beaver Pond Lane in Granville, NY.

According to the investigation, Swan reportedly ignored instructions from a firefighter to stay clear of the area during fire suppression efforts. He reportedly drove his vehicle around fire trucks with activated emergency lights, which were positioned to block the roadway for the safety of North Granville Fire Department members. Firefighters had to stop their operations to avoid being hit by Swan’s vehicle, and he reportedly drove over several sections of charged fire hose.

Swan was arrested at his home and processed at SP Granville. He was issued an appearance ticket for Granville Town Court on November 10, 2025, and released.
