STATEN ISLAND, NY – A campaign fundraiser for New York State Assemblyman and Staten Island Republican Party Chairman Michael Tannousis was held on June 16 at the Annadale Terrace Center.

The event was attended by, among others, representatives of the Police and Fire Departments.

Tannousis thanked the guests for their presence and support and promised to continue working hard for the progress and prosperity of all 130,000 citizens he represents in Albany.

“The fact that you have supported me for six years is a great honor for me,” he said. “At the same time, I feel the responsibility and the duty to prove myself worthy of your trust every day.”

“I have won the elections three times in a row and I am confident that in November with your vote I will be elected again,” Tannousis continued. “I have learned a lot in my career so far. I fight for the interests of hard-working taxpayers, for public safety, job creation, upgrading public transportation and anything else that contributes to improving the quality of life.”

“Unfortunately, Albany does not defend the interests of citizens in the best possible way, but we will continue the fight to achieve the changes we want,” he said.

Attorney Charles Kapetanakis spoke to The National Herald and noted the great importance for the Greek Diaspora to have its own person at the decision-making centers, a young, as he said, politician with dynamism, skills and logic who is interested in the good and progress of all citizens.

“Above all, this is about a good and honest politician who helps the citizens of New York with all his might,” he added. “I am sure that he will rise very high in the political scene.”

Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering at the College of Staten Island Neophytos Antoniades praised the ethics and integrity of Tannousis’ character, his sound political speech, and the justice in his decisions.

He said that Tannousis “strongly supports all issues of Hellenism and Cyprus. He always does what is right in politics, regardless of the cost, which is why he has my full support and sympathy in his election campaign.”

Antonis Tannousis spoke with words of love, emotion and pride for his son: “The needs of citizens are his only priority and his constituents recognize this. Since he was a young child, he has walked through life with principles and absolute respect for his fellow man. The entire family wishes him good luck in his fight and we are sure that he will once again honor the trust of the voters.”

The representatives of the Police and the Fire Departments thanked him for always being by their side and pledged to support his efforts.
