DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — A BROOKLYN MOTHER and her boyfriend were indicted Wednesday in the death of the woman’s 3-year-old son Kyng Davis, who allegedly died from being beaten, starved and neglected. Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez identified the defendants as Sunshyne Davis, 25, and Robert White, 39, both of whom were living in White’s car at the time of her son’s death.
Davis was arraigned Wednesday before Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Donald Leo. White will be arraigned at a later date. They were charged with second-degree murder, second-degree manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child.
On March 9, 2025, the defendants allegedly dropped Kyng Davis’ body at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in East Flatbush, spoke to medical staff, then drove away. An autopsy found death from blunt force trauma and neglect with starvation and dehydration.
“This innocent child allegedly suffered day after day, denied the most basic care and compassion,” Gonzalez said in a release. “We will vigorously prosecute this case to secure justice for Kyng.”
