The Broadway League’s Black to Broadway initiative, in partnership
with Black Theatre United and BTC: Building The Change, presents the
sixth annual Broadway Celebrates Juneteenth concert June 19.
The Great Gatsby‘s Corbin Bleu hosts the free outdoor
Times Square concert that honors Black artistry,
culture, and unity. An all-Black cast of Broadway artists perform in the 90-minute event, which begins at 4 PM rain or shine. American
Sign Language interpretation will be provided by Pro Bono ASL.

The 2026 Juneteenth Legacy Award will
be presented to Tony nominee, Emmy winner, and Kennedy Center
Honoree Debbie Allen, who directed the current Broadway revival of Joe Turner’s Come and Gone. “Through
her extraordinary artistry, visionary
leadership, and unwavering commitment to nurturing the next generation,”
press note state, “Ms. Allen exemplifies the spirit of the Juneteenth
Legacy Award and the lasting influence of a true cultural trailblazer.”
The creative and production teams include director and writer Matthew
Johnson Harris, music director Rashad McPherson, executive producer
Kendra Whitlock Ingram, stage manager Kamra A. Jacobs, and general
manager Bespoke Theatricals, with creative consultants Black Theatre
United and BTC: Building the Change.
All performances
will be accompanied by live music provided with help from The Music Performance Trust Fund and the Film Funds.
The concert is held at Duffy Square in Times Square, located
between 46th and 47th Streets between Broadway and Seventh Avenue.
