Pelham Children’s Center (PCC) is proud to offer comprehensive after-school programming at Hutchinson, Colonial, and Prospect Hill Elementary Schools, providing a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for Pelham’s elementary-aged children.
Designed to meet the needs of working families, PCC’s After Care Program gives children an opportunity to relax, socialize, and explore their interests after a full day of school. Students participate in a variety of activities, including creative writing, team sports, painting, reading, dramatic play, and limited homework support, while seasonal activities and special events are scheduled throughout the year. The program fosters a strong sense of community through mixed-age groupings that encourage children to learn from and support one another while developing a sense of belonging and ownership.
PCC is excited to announce that, following a successful fire inspection earlier this month, the Hutchinson after-school program has been approved to expand by 56 additional spots, bringing total program capacity to 96 students.
“We are thrilled to be able to expand our Hutchinson program and welcome more families,” said Stephen Madey, Executive Director of Pelham Children’s Center. This expansion reflects the growing demand for high-quality after-school programming in Pelham and PCC’s commitment to serving more local families. Spaces remain limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis, with flexible enrollment options ranging from one to five days per week based on family needs.
Beyond childcare and educational services, Pelham Children’s Center is a community partner dedicated to enriching the lives of children and families throughout Pelham. As a nonprofit organization, PCC actively participates in and supports community traditions and events, including Pumpkin Fest, Trunk or Treat, Santa Photos, the Spring 5K, and other family-focused activities that bring neighbors together and strengthen community connections.
These events provide opportunities for families to engage, celebrate, and build relationships beyond the classroom. PCC believes that its mission extends beyond the children enrolled in its programs and is committed to giving back through family programming, partnerships, volunteerism, and community involvement that help make Pelham a welcoming and vibrant place for all families.
