ALBANY- On Monday, November 3, 2025, local contractor, Anthony Paciello, joined North Country News and shared his insight on a new law in New York State that will take effect on January 1.
Known as the ‘All Electric Buildings’ Law, legislators and climate activists say the goal is to advance clean energy initiatives by requiring all newly constructed buildings (less than 7-stories) to be all completely electric heat and appliance (see the official fact sheet here).
On the other hand, there has been a growing chorus of lawmakers and contractors who have making their concerns known, specifically over if these new regulations will have potential negative impacts for families living in the North Country (check out our previous coverage with New York State Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush).
