Construction has risen above street level for a 46-story residential skyscraper being built at 30-25 Queens Blvd. in Long Island City.

When completed, the building is expected to stand 525 feet tall and span approximately 511,000 square feet. It will have 561 housing units, with 169 being affordable units. Of the 562 housing units, 451 will be rentals and 110 will be condominiums. In addition to the housing space, the structure will also have 21,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor.

As of mid-June, the structure’s foundations have been built up to street level. A tower crane is at the site to help with the building’s formation. Work on this is already rising on the western corner of the property.

Based on the renderings, the completed skyscraper will have a reflective glass curtain wall with vertical strips of copper-hued paneling. Angular volumes will be incorporated at the northern and eastern corners of the massing, sloping upward to staggered setbacks. The northern portion, which will be shorter, will be clad in a checkerboard pattern of bronze-hued paneling. A mechanical bulkhead will top off the tower’s angled crown.

Planned amenities for residents include a basketball court, a pickleball court, outdoor grills, a fitness center, a meditation studio, a game room, a coworking lounge and a private rooftop swimming pool 500 feet above street level.

The Queens Plaza subway station is directly next to the property, providing convenient access for the E, M, and R trains. The site is also within close proximity to the Queensboro Plaza subway station, which provides service for the 7, N and W trains, as well as bus stops for the Q32, Q39, Q60, Q67, Q69, Q100, Q101, Q102, and B62 lines.

Construction is on track to finish up in 2028.
