On October 28, 2025, State Police of Granville arrested Jarid M. Swan, 28 of Granville, NY for Reckless Endangerment in the second degree, Reckless Endangerment of Property, and Obstructing Fire Fighting Operations.

On October 19, 2025, at about 1:22 a.m. State Police responded to the report of a vehicle fire on Beaver Pond Lane in Granville, NY. The investigation determined that prior to law enforcement arrival Swan was reportedly instructed to stay out of the area by a Fire Department member due to the fire suppression operation. Swan then allegedly disregarded the firefighter’s instruction and drove his vehicle around Fire Trucks that had emergency lights activated and were intentionally parked to block the roadway and ensure the safety of North Granville Fire Department members. Multiple firefighters reportedly had to stop their fire suppression operation to move out of the path of the vehicle in fear they may be struck by Swan. In addition, while driving through the fire scene Swan allegedly drove over several sections of charged fire hose.

Swan was arrested at his home and transported to SP Granville for processing. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Granville Town Court on November 10, 2025, and released.
