Argentine tennis makes history once again on the grass of London. In a tense battle of more than three hours filled with high-quality tennis, Francisco Cerúndolo (world No. 27) was crowned champion of the Queen’s ATP 500 after defeating American Tommy Paul (No. 28) 7-6(4), 4-6, 3-6.
This achievement represents the most important title of the Buenos Aires player’s career, as it is the first ATP 500 trophy he has added to his collection. He also became the first Argentine tennis player in history to lift the trophy at the traditional Queen’s Club tournament.
Historic milestone: Francisco Cerúndolo joins the legendary Guillermo Vilas as the only Argentine players in history with multiple grass-court titles (Cerúndolo had already won Eastbourne in 2023, fittingly also beating Tommy Paul in the final).
