BRONX – A police-involved shooting occurred at 5:34 p.m. in the Bronx Sunday afternoon following a stolen vehicle incident, according to the New York City Police Department’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information (DCPI).
What we know:
Officers responding to the report encountered a parked vehicle. As they approached it, the vehicle suddenly accelerated and struck several of them, including a sergeant, officials said.
Following the impact, shots were fired.
The sergeant was transported for medical treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.
