Tuesday is the June primary election across New York City.
Morris Katz, who served as a campaign strategist for Mayor Zohran Mamdani, joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Monday to talk about this year’s primary season and what it means for the Democratic Party.
He’s also spent time advising other candidates in the city, including Brad Lander, Micah Lasher and Claire Valdez.
“I think that tomorrow is a referendum on the future of the Democratic Party, and it’s a referendum on what kind of politics people want to see in this city,” he said.
“People wanted ambition. People wanted change. People wanted a new generation of leaders. That’s on the ballot again,” Katz continued. “And I think people are still hungry for those things, and are ready to take a chance on a government they can believe in again.”
