BOROUGHWIDE — BROOKLYN HAS BEEN RANKED the top “large city” in the U.S. in terms of bike network connectivity, according to Zag Daily in an analysis of rankings by the nonprofit PeopleForBikes. The organization evaluated more than 3,000 communities across the country this year. Minneapolis came in second and Seattle was third. A “large” city was set as having a population of more than 300,000.
PeopleForBikes told Zag that the top-ranking large cities have several characteristics: “Low residential speed limits, dozens of miles of protected bike lanes and off-street paths and a focus on connecting people to jobs, schools and other daily destinations by bike.”
