Who needs the lottery when you have an enormous Queen of Hearts raffle in Earlville?
In case you haven’t heard the weekly drawing rolled over again this past Saturday night. The pot has grown to over $1.3 million.
The Lounge in Earlville has played host to the big money contest. Drawings are held every Saturday night. However folks organizing the raffle announced Sunday that they will reveal the remaining 6 cards Saturday night until the Queen of Hearts is revealed. Organizers say the massive fundraiser has become “just too much for this small Lion’s Club, small town, and our small bar.”Â
The Earlville Lions Club is the beneficiary of the raffle. They will receive 20 percent of the pot. The lucky individual who draws the Queen of Hearts gets 60 percent while the remaining money will be rolled into the next raffle.Â
