Joshua Jefferson traded to the Brooklyn Nets, selected with the 28th pick

NEW YORK CITY (KCRG) – Former Iowa State All-American Joshua Jefferson is headed to Brooklyn to play for the Nets.

Jefferson was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the 28th pick, which was already traded to the Nets.

Jefferson was named second-team All-American by the AP, averaging 16.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game.

Originally from Las Vegas, Jefferson played two years at St. Mary’s before transferring the Iowa State. He helped ISU get to two NCAA Tournaments.

Jefferson injured his ankle in the first round of the 2026 NCAA Tournament, ending his season.
