STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The iconic “dun-dun” of “Law & Order” will once again resonate across Staten Island as the long-running NBC crime drama returns to the borough to film an upcoming crossover episode.
No-parking signs have already been spotted in Rosebank on Sylva Lane near Edgewater Street, close to Buono Beach and the Alice Austen House. The parking restrictions will be in effect from Wednesday, Nov. 12, through Thursday, Nov. 13, to accommodate production vehicles.
A source familiar with the shoot confirmed that the episode will be a crossover with “Law & Order: SVU,” with filming expected to take place at multiple locations, including the former Bayley Seton Hospital in Stapleton and a nearby shipyard.
The Island has long been a favorite locale for the “Law & Order” franchise due to its mix of waterfront views, industrial zones and residential streets.
Residents should anticipate production crews, lighting trucks, camera equipment and a possible glimpse of a star or two throughout the filming period, as streets will be temporarily transformed into the series’ signature crime scenes.

The production will return to Staten Island next week to film scenes from an upcoming crossover episode between “Law & Order” and “Law & Order: SVU.”(Advance/SILive.com|Dr. Gracelyn Santos)
The popular drama, which first aired in 1990, has reached cult-like status for those looking to binge a nearly endless playlist of episodes. As the brainchild of Emmy Award-winning producer Dick Wolf, its many spinoffs have been touted by many community and civic groups for focusing on timely social issues.
Most often, the episodes, which are filmed on location throughout the city, are loosely based on real crimes. No details were available about the storyline for the crossover episode.
