Omakase Osukaa delivers an exceptional, authentic, Japanese omakase experience in a stylish setting inside The Factory LIC Omakase means “Chef’s choice” and is a Japanese dining tradition where there is no menu, and the Chef prepares a tasting menu made from the freshest fish, seafood, and ingredients of the day. This unique culinary journey is a pleasure for the fortunate few who partake each night.

The cool, sleek dining room centers around the kitchen with its smooth gray marble counter and tall stools that allow you to observe the Chef at work, preparing food that looks like art. Dinner reservations are a must, as there are only 14 seats at the counter and 6 at the table. Choose either the 14-course omakase ($79) or the 17-course omakase ($99). Each small course is prepared from staples such as Wagyu beef, blue fin toro tuna, beluga caviar, and salmon. The Chef selects the finest catches of the day and decides what to make using the finest ingredients, creating delightful surprises that wow the guests. Each night is a different experience, and what a wonderful and intimate way to celebrate a special person in your life or small group of friends. An extensive selection of sake is available to accompany your meal and the professional wait staff can make suggestions for you based on your flavor preferences.

Omakase Osukaa is buzzing at lunchtime where the a la carte menu of special rolls, sashimi donburi, sushi, and bento boxes are prepared on the spot for the throngs of office workers who come in to eat or pick up their takeaway orders. We started with chilled glasses of sake and nibbled on edamame while the Chef prepared our lunch. The Dragon roll is prepared with eel, cucumber, and avocado and is pretty as a picture ($11.95). The Lava roll combines spicy tuna and crabmeat topped with salmon and avocado ($13.95) The Factory roll, Spicy Lover roll, and Ocean roll are other choices available each day from 11am to 3pm.

Sashimi Donburi is a bowl of perfectly steamed rice topped with freshly cut slices of tuna, salmon, yellowtail, or toro tuna. To watch the Chef with his extra sharp knife cut into the slabs of fish with surgical precision is quite a thrill. Traditional lunch Bento box is a beautiful set composed of two shumai dumplings, six pieces of California roll, seaweed and your choice of sushi, sashimi, yellowtail, salmon, or shrimp tempura which makes a satisfying lunch. If you prefer a lighter lunch, diners can choose a 2-roll or 3-roll lunch combo for $10.95 and up served with fresh ginger, wasabi, and soy sauce.
