Joe Lo Truglio played Charles Boyle on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” for 8 seasons and would love for a revival to come across his desk!
PauseRewind’s Kevin Zelman caught up with Lo Truglio at the premiere of his new movie, “Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass,” where he opened up about the possibilities of a “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” reboot.
“Are you kidding? Absolutely,” Lo Truglio responded when asked if he was down for a “Brooklyn” reboot.
“I mean, the great thing about Brooklyn [] it’s a super special show. Very proud to be part of it. I’d be on board in a heartbeat.” But, he admits there’s one aspect about bringing the show back to life that wouldn’t be the same
“It’s very difficult. We don’t have everyone. We’re missing the King, Mr. Braugher, and so that’s tough. But I love all those guys, and I love, love that show.”
Andre Braugher was an integral part of the “Brooklyn” series for all 8 seasons as Raymond Holt who we sadly lost in 2023 to lung cancer.
“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” aired its first five seasons on Fox until its cancellation, but due to fan outrage, NBC rescued the series, where it ran for an additional three seasons before concluding its eight-season run in 2021.
Currently, Lo Truglio is starring in “Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass” alongside Zoey Deutch, Kerry Kenney-Silver, Jon Hamm, John Slattery, Ken Marino, and Sabrina Impacciatore, plus a number of surprise cameos!
“Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass” is in theaters on July 10.
