BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) — The 18-year-old accused of hitting multiple police officers with a vehicle before being shot has been arrested, according to the NYPD.
Jayden Mendoza was taken into custody on Tuesday evening and charged with attempted murder.

The development comes after multiple members of the NYPD were injured on Sunday night near East Fordham Road and Marion Avenue.
According to the NYPD, units followed a silver KIA Sportage that had been reported stolen on Saturday. The car eventually stopped along East Fordham Road around 6 p.m.
Police say six unmarked vehicles surrounded the KIA, and multiple officers told the driver, an 18-year-old, to get out of the car.
Police say the driver put the vehicle in reverse and hit one of the unmarked cars, along with multiple members of the NYPD.
One of the officers who jumped on a parked vehicle to avoid being hit shot the driver as he continued to try to escape, officials say.
A passenger in the vehicle, 20-year-old Angel Robles of the Bronx, was also arrested and then released pending further investigation, authorities said,
