Casting is now complete for the New York premiere of Andrew Stein‘s new play Disruption, which will begin previews July 22 prior to an official opening August 2 Off-Broadway at The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center.
Directed by Hersh Ellis (Rain and Zoe Save the World), the limited engagement is currently scheduled through September 13.
Liberation favorite Irene Sofia Lucio has newly joined the company in the role of Mia. Also newly cast are understudies Octavia Chavez-Richmond (Mary Gets Hers), Carman Lacivita (To My Girls), Lauren Marcus (White Girl in Danger), and Brian Miskell (The Antipodes).
They join the previously announced Jason Ralph (The Magicians), Tony nominee Conrad Ricamora (Oh, Mary!), Jasmine Sharma (Twelfth Night), Tony nominee Elizabeth Stanley (Jagged Little Pill), Joe Tippett (Mare of Easttown), Golden Globe nominee John David Washington (The Piano Lesson), and Shaunette Renée Wilson (The Resident). Casting is by Stephanie Yankwitt.
Stein’s thriller asks the question, “Does anyone know what would make them truly happy?” Tech entrepreneur Nick thinks he has the answer. After Silicon Valley success and a big exit, Nick presents his three best friends with his next big idea: an algorithm that promises to guide them through big life decisions better and more effectively than they can guide themselves.
The upcoming production will also have scenic and costume design by Zoë Hurwitz, lighting design by Reza Behjat, sound design by Caroline Eng, video design by Yana Biryükova, property designed by Samantha Shoffner, and movement coordination by Ryan VanDenBoom.
