Council Member Pierina Sanchez talks budget negotiations

There are just days to go until the June 30 deadline for a final city budget deal.

Sources told NY1 that negotiations between the Mamdani administration and the City Council are hung up over funding to expand the city’s rental assistance program.

Council Member Pierina Sanchez, the chair of the Committee on Housing and Buildings and one of the architects of the rental assistance program, joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Thursday to discuss more.

Her district includes parts of the Bronx, like Kingsbridge, Bedford Park, University Heights and Fordham.
