INDEPENDENCE, Kan. (KCTV) – A car crashed into a Dairy Queen in Independence, Kansas, on Thursday afternoon, trapping a passenger inside and causing moderate structural damage.

The Independence Kansas Fire Department responded to the scene at 5:17 p.m. The restaurant was open at the time, but no customers or employees inside were injured.

The passenger was trapped after the car went completely into the building. Their condition is unknown. Crews helped the driver out of the vehicle and refused EMS transport.
The cause of the crash is unknown.
