DUMBO/CHELSEA — MUSIC MOGUL and 25-time Grammy winner Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter celebrated 30 years of his iconic “Reasonable Doubt” album Thursday night with two dramatic fireworks shows. One was in the East River just south of the Brooklyn Bridge, and another was in the Hudson River at Pier 61 in Chelsea. The fireworks were synced to music from the album and streamed at Power 105.1 and on social media. A related Jay-Z 30 pop-up, at Smack Mellon gallery in DUMBO, is open through July 5, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., according to Billboard.
Brooklyn Public Library has also launched a limited-edition library card in commemoration of the 30th anniversary.
