Virginia Woman Arrested on Weapons Charge in Brooklyn After Trooper Assists with Disabled Vehicle

Brooklyn, NY – On June 25, 2026, a Trooper from Troop NYC, SP Brooklyn, arrested Dashari N. Williams (23) of Virginia, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon.

While patrolling I-278 eastbound, a Trooper stopped to check on a disabled Nissan Sentra blocking the ramp at Exit 27.  After speaking with the motorist, Williams, it was revealed the vehicle was uninsured.  An inventory of the uninsured motor vehicle was conducted in preparation for an impound, which led to the discovery of an unregistered handgun, magazines, and ammunition.

Williams was placed into custody and transported to the NYPD 84th Precinct for processing, and later to Brooklyn Central Booking for arraignment on the charge of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, a class C felony.
