William Pichardo, 51, of the Bronx, New York, was arrested following the incident just before 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, in the area of Chase Avenue and Cooke Street in Waterbury, police said.
Waterbury police were called to that area to reports of gunshots, but when they arrived, no one was there. Officers found three shell casings on the ground. There was no property damage, and no one was hurt, authorities said.
Police said they connected Pichardo to the shots, but did not detail why he is alleged to have pulled the trigger.

Police said Pichardo was being held on a $500,000 bond
