LINDENHURST, Long Island (WABC) — There were no mountains high enough, and no flood waters wide enough to stop an Amazon driver from going above and beyond to deliver a package on Long Island, and it was all caught on video.

The whipping winds and coastal flooding of Monday’s nor’easter left many residents in low-lying areas like Lindenhurst, soggier than usual, but it wasn’t enough to stop the brave soul from Amazon, who was spotted Monday on Rachel Bemaul’s doorbell camera putting his “sea legs” to the test.

“I’m like, ‘no way,’ I’m on my couch, he has no shoes, no socks on, and he delivers my package,” Bemaul said. “Anybody else would’ve been like, ‘you know we’re flooded, we’re just going to delay the package,’ and he brought it.”

It’s why neighbors who watched the delivery person park a block and a half away, couldn’t believe what they saw.

Lindhurst resident John Fucello said he watched the driver as he took his shoes off.

“Yeah, I thought he was crazy,” Fucello said. “I think that’s awesome!”

Bemaul lives only feet away from where the canals in Lindenhurst feed into the Great South Bay. She knew it would be flooded badly in this nor’easter, and that’s why she even tried to warn the Amazon driver not to come.

“I literally said, ‘do not attempt,'” she said.

Now the young mom of two, who watched as the driver waded through a block and a half of murky mess just to deliver her 72 coffee pods, is determined to find him.

“I went onto the Amazon app to see if I could like somehow contact him, give him a tip. There was nothing,” Bemaul said.

She hopes to somehow tell him, “job well done.”

“Just like the wholesomeness, the dedication of his job. Like he had that package, no matter what, nothing was stopping him from delivering it,” Bemaul said.

Amazon released the following statement:

“We encourage the customer to reach out to our customer service team to pass along their feedback,” the statement said. “Regarding the events in the video, it’s important to note that safety is always our top priority and drivers aren’t expected to complete a delivery if conditions aren’t safe to do so.”
