A 93-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash when a biker riding a motorcycle slammed into her as she crossed a Bronx road Monday, cops said.
The victim was crossing E. 225th St. heading south on White Plains Road in Wakefield when the biker struck her in the crosswalk around 2:30 p.m., according to law enforcement.
A witness was chatting with friends on a nearby sidewalk when he saw the motorcyclist slam into the elderly pedestrian.
“He was speeding,” said Junior Manes, a 30-year-old construction worker. “She was crossing in the crosswalk, and he hit her. She flew up in the air and landed over by the dumpster, but in the road, like 25 feet.”
“She was face down,” he added. “Her face and forehead were bleeding, oozing.”
Video obtained by the Daily News shows the victim tumbling multiple car lengths across the pavement just moments after she’s been struck, the motorbike zooming past her as she comes to a stop on the pavement.
Manes said he watched as the man stopped his bike, looked at the victim and then “kept going.”
“That’s real tragedy,” said Manes. “Sad, so sad.”
The victim’s grandson arrived at the scene shortly after the crash, Manes said.
“Her grandson was looking at her by the curb,” said the witness. “He said he’d just left her to get her some food. He was shocked to see her on the floor.”
Medics rushed the victim to Jacobi Medical Center, where she died.
The driver of the grey, red and white bike fled the scene, said police.
There were no arrests.
The fatal hit-and-run occurred less than two hours after a 13-year-old boy was killed riding on the back of a moped in Queens after his friend slammed into an open car door and then careened into a moving truck.
Footage obtained by the Daily News shows the moped’s teenage operator, also 13, colliding with a door opened by the driver of a parked vehicle on 162nd St. near 45th Ave. in Flushing when the scooter slammed into the truck about 12:35 p.m.
