Concert setlists often change, so it’s always a surprise when an artist plays a track that no one was expecting. This was the case as iconic ’90s rock band Queens of the Stone Age opted to add in some deep cuts for their latest run of European shows.

Touring alongside heavy metal band System of a Down, the Seattle rockers kicked off the tour in Sweden before heading to France, Italy and Germany, and then onto the U.K. for two epic stadium shows at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium in London.

The band opened the show with their fan-favorite hit “Run Pig Run,” marking a triumphant return to the stage. Taken from the 2007 record Era Vulgaris, the track hasn’t been played live since 2008.

After almost two decades since the last time it was performed in concert, “Run Pig Run” undoubtedly excited fans. Music lovers took to Reddit to share their shock over the 12-track set list, which included other rarities such as “The Fun Machine Took A S–t And Died.” Also from Era Vulgaris, it was the first live performance of the song in 12 years.

“Holy.. I thought we would never hear this one ever again.” one person said. A separate comment read: “Not sure anyone there realizes how lucky they are. I wish they’d do another headline tour.”

“Never expected to see ‘Run Pig Run’ and ‘Fun Machine’ in this show since it was gonna be shorter.” another wrote.

“Cool mix of the hits and some weird stuff!” said a fourth person. “I’m excited to see if ‘Pig’ and ‘Fun Machine’ are staples, or if they’ll be rotated with other weird songs.”

Fans also pointed out that 2027 marks the 20th anniversary of Era Vulgaris, voicing their hopes of an album tour.

Formed in 1996, Queens of the Stone Age rose to fame following the release of their second studio album, Rated R, released in 2000. The record peaked at No. 16 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers album chart. Its lead single, “The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret,” reached No. 21 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.
