A suspect is sought for stabbing a woman on an E train at the Jackson Heights transit hub on Roosevelt Avenue and 74th Street on Monday.

Police from the 110th Precinct and Transit District 20 are looking for a bald suspect who allegedly stabbed a woman on an E train in Jackson Heights on Monday afternoon.
Police say the 31-year-old victim was on board a northbound E train at the Jackson Heights–Roosevelt Avenue/74th Street transit hub at around 2:20 p.m. when an unidentified man began arguing with her. The verbal dispute escalated into violence when the perpetrator pulled out a knife and allegedly stabbed her in her neck and hand, police said. Following the attack, the suspect ran off the train and out of the station onto Broadway.
EMS transported the wounded woman to Elmhurst Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
The victim would not tell detectives from the 110th Precinct what the verbal dispute was about, according to a law enforcement source familiar with the investigation.
The suspect is described as a bald man with a light complexion who is approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall. There is no description of the attacker’s clothing, an NYPD spokeswoman said Tuesday.

Through June 28, the 110th Precinct has reported 317 felony assaults so far in 2026, 19 more than the 298 reported at the same point last year, an increase of 6.4%, according to the most recent CompStat report. The precinct reported 26 transit crimes so far this year, matching the same number of cases at the same point in 2025, according to CompStat.
