GLENDALE – A CORPSE WAS found at P.S./I.S. 113 Anthony J. Pranzo in Glendale on Tuesday, reports ABC News. The school building is just north of Forest Park.

The body was discovered in a state of decomposition after maintenance staff at the school smelled a foul odor and called a pest control service. Sources said the exterminator discovered a foot in the school’s chimney after opening it to inspect it. Emergency services were working to remove the body from the chimney on Tuesday..

Students at the school, which is out for the summer, told the New York Post that the smell had permeated the building for weeks prior to the discovery. The victim is male, and reportedly had a size 9 or 10 shoe; his identity is unknown. Sources said police are investigating whether he may have been a construction worker, as renovation work had recently taken place at the school.

The investigation is ongoing.
