CITYWIDE — CONSOLIDATED EDISON said Wednesday the company is ready for this week’s extreme heat. Con Ed activated its Emergency Response Center on Wednesday in preparation for high temperatures and potential thunderstorms. Crews will be working 24/7 and will be ready to respond to both underground or overhead power problems, the company said in a release. As of 4 p.m. Wednesday, roughly 70 Con Ed customers in Brooklyn were having power issues.
