The New York Blood Center is maintaining a blood emergency status for the region, with stocks falling below a two-day supply last week.

O-positive and O-negative always are in high demand, but donations of all blood types are needed to help surgical patients, cancer patients, burn victims, new mothers and their babies and accident victims.

Information is at nybc.org.
