New York State is planning to drop 450,000 people from Essential Plan health coverage because of federal cuts, Crain’s New York Business reported June 30. The Essential Plan covers low-income residents who earn too much for Medicaid but lack employer health insurance.
Federal cuts are causing the disenrollment, according to Crain’s. The report did not specify which federal policies changed, when coverage will end, or what alternatives exist.
