This spot is putting out some of the most electric, heavy-hitting platters in the entire city, and the pure volume of sauce being slung back in that kitchen is absolutely unreal.
The moment you walk up to the counter, the steam hits you. Massive trays of glistening, deeply marinated meats are practically screaming your name. I watched them grab a gorgeous, heavily charred piece of jerk pork right off the grill. The smoke was rising. The cleaver came down hard, slicing through that ultra-tender meat with total ease. Chopped to absolute perfection. They pack a heavy scoop of classic rice and peas into a container, layer on fresh cabbage, and then pile that mountain of juicy pork right on top. If you want crunch, they have you covered with their sweet chili fried chicken. They take massive, golden-brown fried chicken cutlets and submerge them in a vibrant, sweet, and fiery red chili sauce. Drenched. Every square inch of that crispy skin is coated in sticky goodness. I took one massive bite and the crunch was shockingly loud, giving way to perfectly juicy chicken on the inside.
They are doing things with flavor that most spots are simply too afraid to try. From the fall-off-the-bone stewed chicken to the massive portions of fried shrimp piled high over mac and cheese, everything here is built for maximum impact.
