On July 3, 2026, shortly after 3pm, New York State Police responded to a one-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 81 in the town of Lisle.
An investigation determined that a Chevrolet SUV, operated by Paul L. Veeder III, 59, of Falls Church, Virginia was north on Interstate 81 near mile marker 32. While changing lanes, Veeder III lost control of the vehicle, causing it to leave roadway and overturn.
A 19-year-old female from Falls Church, Virginia, who was seated in the rear of the vehicle and was not wearing a seatbelt was ejected and became pinned beneath the SUV. She was transported to Wilson Medical Center, where she is being treated for her injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
Veeder III and three other occupants – a 74-year-old female, 21-year-old male, and 18-year-old male all from Falls Church, Virginia were also transported to Wilson Medical Center for evaluation and treatment.
Veeder III was issued traffic citations.
The northbound passing lane of Interstate 81 north was closed for approximately one hour during the investigation.
