ALDERSON, WV (WVNS) – Alderson’s 4th of July Parade featured around 2 hours’ worth of all kinds of people spreading some Patriotic cheer.

Firemen’s Rodeo gets Alderson’s 65th annual 4th of July celebrations rolling

Local and state elected officials, George Washington himself, motorcycles, cars, tractors, trucks, local businesses, and parade floats galore marched down the streets that were lined with folks from all over. Who could forget all the different pageant queens who got their time in the sun, especially the 2026 Miss Fireworks and Miss Fireworks Teen, who have loved their time so far at their celebrations. 2026 Miss Fireworks – Brooke Patterson – told 59News this festival is definitely more their speed with events like the Firemen’s Rodeo that had some fun for the kids near the end of that night.

“I am definitely a little bit more southern and country myself. So, seeing everybody splashing in the water, I mean the little kids were jumping in [the totes]. They were like scooping buckets of water out trying to, but all the kids jumped in and were like, ‘Would you guys come with us?’ We were all dressed up and were like, ‘Yeah, we’ll get in,’ said Patterson.

Together, Patterson and Hunter had big plans for Saturday night leading up to their fireworks display.

“One of our favorite new traditions, we kind of started ourselves, I believe “BesTitle in Lewisburg donated some crowns, so we are actually going to be crowning all your little girls, so they feel like princesses for the day too,” added Patterson.

After the parade finished its course, the two handed out awards to some of the top parade entries. Saturday was action-packed with events going on all day long. In the midst of all the fun games and events, these two are making sure this landmark celebration is one to remember for Alderson.

“It is so cool to be a 4th of July Queen, celebrating the 250 years,” said Patterson. “Definitely nothing else like it in the world. I mean, that’s what we’re really trying to do is live out every moment and experience it, ’cause like you said, it’s a once in a lifetime experience just to be Miss Firework and Miss Firework teen, but let alone, America’s 250th birthday. There’s nowhere else we would rather be.”
