Health officials are continuing to investigate a growing cluster of Legionnaires’ disease cases on the Upper East Side.
City Health Commissioner Dr. Alister Martin said the Health Department is working to raise awareness about Legionnaires’ disease, which is spread by inhaling water vapor containing Legionella bacteria, often from cooling towers on large buildings.
Officials are monitoring the situation, investigating potential sources and encouraging anyone experiencing symptoms to seek medical care.
