Between 12,500 and 13,500 Jersey City residents could be at risk of losing their Medicaid benefits under last year’s federal budget law, known as H.R. 1, according to a New Jersey nonprofit. Between 2,000 and 2,600 Jersey Citians could lose their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits in any given month.
